Fireman Mac "Mida" Newton

"Mida" passed away on July 31st 2007, aged 66. He will be sadly missed.

Malcolm "Mida" Newton started at Annesley in March 1956. He left the railway in 1964. Now retired, he lives with his daughter Tammy at Kirkby-in-Ashfield

Fireman Ivan Terry Summers

Ivan Summers started his railway career at Annesley in March 1958. He transferred to Langwith Junction (41J) in July 1965.Subsequently Langwith Jct.became Shirebrook Diesel Depot. On closure of that depot, Ivan, by now a driver, moved to the EWS depot at Worksop, from where he retired in September 2005.

I started at Annesley on 11th January 1960. In 1965 the writing was on the wall for the closure of the GC so in March of that year I transferred to Toton. Disillusioned with diesels, I left the railway service in late 1966. Currently working for a finance company, I live in Derby with my partner Pauline and step-daughter Kerry. I am now a fireman with Peak Rail.

Fireman Vince Walker

Vince Walker's railway career started at Annesley in October 1956. He left in 1962. Now retired, he lives at Carlton with his partner Marlene. He is currently a trainee fireman at Peak Rail.
